Frequently Asked Questions.
What Products Do You Recommend For Your Clients?
I only use and recommend professional products, currently including Glymed Plus, PCA Skin, iS Clinical, Jan Marini and FreeSKIN by Tessa for my client treatment plans. These lines are cruelty-free, vegan and pharmaceutical grade lines based on performance botanicals, and used in treatment rooms and medical offices around the world. Every formula I use is specifically engineered to compliment the skin’s own natural environment, and every TessaSkin plan is designed for the individual.

HOW MUCH WILL I SPEND ON PRODUCTS?
Typically, expect between 5-8 new product recommendations which may include haircare, supplements and skincare. Feel free to mention it if you have a strict budget, and I will do my best to accommodate by limiting products or choosing budget-friendly lines. Since all cases may vary, your initial investment for skincare may be between $400-$700 depending on your concerns, skin condition and goals.
What Skin Conditions Do You Treat?
I specialize in treating skin conditions and creating customized plans for acne, teen skin, rosacea, compromised skin, hyperpigmentation + anti-aging concerns.
How long will it take to clear my skin?
While all acne cases are unique, most of my clients clear within 4-6 months.
Can you work with the prescriptions I have been provided by my dermatologist?
This really depends on the individual, and whether the Rxes are topical or oral. While I never want to go against your doctor’s wishes, this is a conversation we should review together regarding how long you have taken the prescriptions, what results you have seen so far, and whether or not your RXes are compatible with active topical ingredients. Together, we will always come up with a plan you feel comfortable with, and loop in your doctor where additional clarification is needed.
Can I get facials while doing your program?
Generally, my clients do not need additional facials to get clear! I typically do not recommend getting facials during my program as this may require you to take a break from active ingredients, and can result in additional complications if the treatment is not performed correctly. That said, I am always open to discussing this with you further in your appointment should you want a facial for self care or other reasons. Bottom line, it is not necessary to get clear!
How long will it take to receive my treatment plan and products?
Getting your plan and routine to you as quickly as possible is my priority! You will receive your plan the same day as your initial consultation (unless an emergency should occur). Your routine is shipped through my client portal, and is typically delivered within 3-7 days.
My skin is super sensitive! Can you still treat me?
Yes! There are many actives and ways we can adjust a treatment plan to suit your skin’s specific needs. It is always possible to adjust your plan of care to unique sensitivities.
I’m dealing with pregnancy acne! Can you still treat me?
Yes! I have treated many expecting clients before, so you are in experienced hands! Since all doctor’s perspectives on actives can differ, I will send you a list of actives and percentages for your doctor’s approval. From there, we will create the perfect holistic plan to treat your skin during pregnancy.
Can I purchase products elsewhere?
To remain an active client and receive my support, I ask that all my clients purchase product directly through my client portal. This supports my insurance policy and small business so that I may continue to do what I love: treat skin!
Can You Tell Me More About What The Virtual Consult Service Includes?
Tessa’s consults includes a 1 hour FaceTime for you and your concerns. Tessa will deep dive into the whole picture of skin health (current routine, history, goals, lifestyle, potential supplements, diet, stress, sleep) and of course be able to answer any skin questions. After the appointment, you will receive a personalized routine covering all the bases and Tessa’s picks for your skin. Tessa will also create a shared photo album with you to track your progress, and enable you to keep in touch/comment on the process!
How Soon Can I Expect Results After My Consult?
It truly depends. While there is truly no quick fix or cures for chronic conditions including acne + rosacea, we can work together to manage the cycles + triggers. All skin is unique, so there is no set time frame. My clients who are consistent, diligent, follow the plan, keep communication with me and schedule regular follow-ups do tend to have the most success!
